This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various accessories. This one in has some custom knobs and switch tips, and comes with a nice a nice strap and gig bag.
This double-cut solid body beast is built with an excellent combination of tonewoods with a mahogany body with an eye-catching quilt top with a luscious Antique Amber high gloss finish and tasty binding. You get a neck-through-body design with a multi-piece maple and walnut neck with solid construction and comfy neck shape perfect for speed and technical playing. Its rosewood fingerboard comes with 24 frets and an exquisite floral inlay all along the fingerboard.
Hear the difference of a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups that provide a wide range of tones. You get a Duncan JB pickup in the bridge position which will gives thick tones perfect for aggressive gritty tones but also versatile enough for more speedy riffage and leads. In the neck position you get a Seymour Duncan Jazz humbucker, the perfect balance with the Duncan JB bringing you warm articulate tones that deliver a punch.
Hardware-wise this guitar is stacked! You get rock-solid gold TonePros TOM bridge string-thru-body design for improved sustain and gold Grover tuners.
This guitar is in excellent condition and comes with a gig bag. It's been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop and is ready to roll!
