Used Kauer Super Chief Redwood Burst with Gig Bag

The Kauer Super Chief is a stunning fusion of vintage inspiration and modern "hot-rod" engineering, serving as the flagship semi-hollow model from Doug Kauer’s California workshop.  We just took this one, which is stunning in appearance, playability and sound.  Everytime we take a Kauer in, we fall in love again.

Featuring a 15.5" wide semi-hollow body crafted Curly Redwood, this guitar is finished in a stunning Redwood Burst that really showcases the lovely grain patterns. The Super Chief is designed to deliver the "air" and resonance of a classic 335-style instrument but with a punchier, more mid-range response, making it a favorite for players who need a versatile instrument that can handle everything from clean jazz to high-gain rock. The semi-hollow construction provides maximum acoustic resonance while remaining remarkably feedback-resistant, even when standing in front of a dimed stack and you will love the distinct soundholes.

The Spanish Mahogany neck comes with a comfortable "Standard C" profile and a premium Wenge fingerboard with block pearloid inlays. The 24" scale length gives you a slinky feel as well.   It's not a skinny neck but it's not fat either - we found it to be perfectly in between, and quite comfortable.  The 12" radius will allow you to bend easily without fear of fretting out. 

The top, neck, and soundholes are expertly bound with a white binding. This is a nice touch that adds to the elegance of the guitar.

Kauer has loaded this guitar with a great set of pickups - the Wolfetone Kauer Buckers.  These are custom, hand-wound humbucker pickups created by Wolfetone exclusively for Kauer that delivery vintage-style PAF tones, with the ability to hit hard.  The bridge pickup is wound hotter for leads, with the neck pickup being slightly underwound.  The light foil covers help to create a more open tone.  These pickups sound great both clean and overdriven, thanks to Alnico II magnets that create a warm, articulate sound.  You get individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and a 3-way selector to make it easy to find your favorite sounds. 

The Super Chief is stacked with great hardware with TonePros tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. Stay in tune with Sperzel Locking tuners.  This is quality hardware on a quality guitar.

We haven't had this exact model before, and are super impressed!  As soon as it came, we knew we had something special here.  This Kauer Super Chief is in excellent condition and comes with a gig bag.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, and it's ready for it's next player.
