Pre Owned 2022 Gibson Les Paul Standard 50's Mod Salt Water Wave With OHSC
In recent years, Gibson created the Mod Collection, an offering of guitars that fall under the umbrella of rarities, exclusives, prototypes and customized one-offs. Unique features and colors attracted attention, and as more come out each week, they grow in popularity.
This particular one was built in 2022, and is a take on an all-time classic - the Les Paul Standard 50's. It's main calling call is it's unique natural finish, called Salt Water Wave. It seems to be organically aged, with a very nice feel. Of course the neck also feels great, as do all Gibson necks! It has the same shape as any Les Paul Standard 50's....chunky but not overally so, and still very comfortable. The guitar is loaded with '61 humbuckers, slightly overwound and hot, with plenty of output. It has modern wiring and Sprague orange drop .022 caps. Aged hardware adds to the uniqueness. A feature that you'll notice when looking closely are the pickup rings - they're colored plastic with a metal ring on top. Also, that knobs are a nice touch to finish off the guitar, as is the metal switch tip.
All in all, this guitar has a lot going on! Be sure to zoom in on the photos to really get a sense of what it has. Speakjing of what it has....this Les Paul comes with the original hardshell case, as well as warranty evaluation and Certificate of Authenticity.
We just took the guitar in, and it's in excellent condition. It was just built last year, and the previous owner barely played it - he's a serious collector with a ton of guitars, including multiple Les Paul's, so he decided to part with it. We were thrilled to see it coming in here! The guitar has been set up to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.
