Martin OM-JM John Mayer Acoustic Guitar with Case

To meet growing demand, Martin worked with John Mayer to produce a new guitar, inspired by his first OM-28JM Limited Edition but more affordable and accessible, following in the footsteps of the popular Martin 000-28EC Eric Clapton model. This elegant Orchestra Model offers versatility for modern musical styles.

The OM-JM features a Hybrid X Scalloped brace platform and Englemann spruce, providing a snappier, quicker response compared to a standard OM-28. Additionally, it is designed to seamlessly integrate with Martin's Gold Plus electronics system.

The neck of the is constructed from Spanish cedar with a diamond volute for superior playing comfort. The 1-11/16" width and low profile shape make fretting easy. The East Indian rosewood headplate features Martin's Old Style decal in silver, a unique touch.  The Gotoh open-geared tuners with butterbean knobs are made from nickel, and the fingerboard is made of black African ebony, with 1/8" mother of pearl position markers.  The 12th fret position marker consists of two dots flanking a slotted square, and John Mayer's signature is inlaid in mother of pearl between the 19th and 20th frets.

The guitar features eye-catching body appointments, such as a Style 45 rosette with a vibrant center ring of paua shell, bold herringbone around the top, and black/white back purfling. Other notable details include grained ivoroid binding, an HD Style zigzag back strip, and a traditional OM teardrop pickguard made of polished, beveled tortoise.

The Style 45 ivory endpin and bridge pins feature abalone dots, while the African ebony bridge is equipped with a TUSQ saddle that has been precisely compensated. The Martin Gold Plus Natural electronics provide an authentic and precise amplified sound to complement the stunning appearance of this guitar, featuring a faultless finish and vintage toner on the top, and glossy nitrocellulose lacquer on the body and headplate.

 A special hardshell case is included.  The guitar is the complete package, represents the artist pefectly, and is a great find for any acoustic player.
